Lower Salford Township and the Board of Supervisors are pleased to announce that the Open Space Referendum on the May 19, 2026 Primary Election ballot has passed.
According to unofficial results posted by Montgomery County, the referendum was approved by Lower Salford voters with 3,130 YES votes and 680 NO votes, with all 6 of 6 precincts reporting.
This is an important and exciting moment for Lower Salford Township. The passage of this referendum reflects our community’s shared commitment to preserving open space, protecting farmland and scenic views, maintaining the Township’s rural character, and planning responsibly for future generations.
The Board of Supervisors extends its sincere thanks to every resident who participated in this process. Whether you attended an informational meeting, asked thoughtful questions, shared feedback, or cast your vote, your involvement helped shape a meaningful decision for the future of Lower Salford Township.
With voter approval, the Township will now be able to move forward with dedicated funding for the acquisition of the Allebach property at 460 Stover Road and other lands and interests in real property for open space preservation, consistent with the ballot question approved by voters.
The Township looks forward to continuing this work with transparency, fiscal responsibility, and a continued focus on preserving the qualities that make Lower Salford such a special place to live.
