Dear Lower Salford Township Residents,

The Township is pleased to announce that we have reached an Agreement of Sale with the Allebach family for the purchase of the Allebach Farm, a property long recognized as a scenic and historic viewshed in Lower Salford.

The farm consists of 62.65 acres and is bounded by Main Street, Quarry Road, and Stover Road. Its preservation will ensure that this iconic portion of our community remains permanently protected as open space, and can not be developed. With this purchase, the Township’s total preserved open space will increase by 3.03%.

The property was appraised at $21,800,000, and the Township has negotiated a purchase price of $21,500,000 - equivalent to $343,176 per acre. To support this significant investment in the community’s future, the Township is anticipating approximately $7.5 million in grant funding. In addition, a proposed ¼% Earned Income Tax (EIT) dedicated to Open Space would provide the remaining funding. For the average resident, this amounts to approximately $203 per year.

We are proud to take this important step in preserving one of Lower Salford’s most visible and treasured landscapes for generations to come.
