The Public Works Department is responsible for the repair, maintenance, and snow removal of over 80 miles of Township roads, and the snow removal of 19 miles of State roads. They also maintain 12 Township parks, an extensive open space system and miles of community paths.
The Township periodically cleans out ditches, grades shoulders, and trims trees along the roadway in front of your home. All of the work is done within the township right-of-way. Please drive slowly and pay attention to the flagmen and signs when driving through work zones.

Snow Removal
Please park vehicles off the streets during a winter storm to allow for safe and efficient removal of snow from curb to curb. Also remove trash cans and sports equipment from the roadway. To avoid being plowed in, shovel snow to the right of your driveway (as you are facing the road). It is unlawful to throw, shovel or plow snow into any roadways within the township from adjoining property. Listen to WNPV 1440 for declared snow emergencies. Whenever the Township declares a highway snow emergency, all parking upon the streets or highways of the township is prohibited.

Road Improvement Projects
Every year certain roads are scheduled to be oiled and chipped or be overlaid with blacktop. The Public Works Department will post signage in advance of a project. Please be patient if you enter a work zone during your travels.

Projects
The Public Works Department works on a variety of construction and maintenance projects on the township roads and in the parks throughout the year.
Click here for a list of past projects.

Christmas Tree Recycling
Trees can be dropped off during daylight hours at Reiff Park at the parking lot off Upper Mainland Road through the month of February. The trees are then chipped and used for mulch throughout our parks.

Street Sweeping
Occasionally, the Public Works Department will sweep streets in an effort to clear debris left from the winter season. This usually happens in April and/or May. If your street is affected,  signs will be posted in advance to alert residents to remove their cars from the roadway.

State Roads & Township Roads
Several of the Township roadways are State-owned & maintained. If you have a concern regarding a State Road (such as a pothole), please contact PennDOT at:
1-800-FIX-ROAD or log onto their website at:
http://www.penndot.gov/Pages/default.aspx

If you are not sure if the road is a State road, please check the Road listing attached below. "T" = Township, "SR" = State
