The original idea to create the H.C.C. for the social enjoyment of Lower Salford families and their guests was spawned by the Harleysville Lions Club that voted in 1955 to make a contribution toward the construction of a pool. Soon, non-interest bearing bonds were sold for additional construction. Civic-minded residents later forfeited many bonds. Over time, more land was donated or purchased. Today the H.C.C. boasts 2 large pools, a wading pool, bathhouse, pavilions, refreshment stand, soccer fields, baseball fields, a grandstand, and the Scout Cabin.
The H.C.C. is a non-profit organization under the direction of a Board of Directors, who volunteers their services without compensation. Other groups also contribute substantial time and money. Among them are the Harleysville Lions and the Harleysville Jaycees. Every year proceeds from the Chicken Barbecue and Country Fair Days are turned over to the Center.
The H.C.C. Board of Directors takes pride and pleasure in this endeavor to enhance Lower Salford’s standing as a fine community in which to live.

POOL INFORMATION
2008
Pool Membership Forms must be taken directly to the pool for submission. After the pool opens, which was June 14, 2008, the Township Office no longer accepts membership forms. Regular pool hours are weekdays from 12 noon to 8 p.m., Saturdays from noon to 8 p.m. and Sundays from 1-6 p.m. (Closed Labor Day) Swim lessons are available to members only at $35 per session beginning on June 23, 2008. Sign ups for the first session of lessons will begin on Wednesday, June 18, 2008 at 2:00 p.m. at the Community Center.

Badges will again be issued this year. There will be no charge for the first badge, but a replacement fee of $2.00 will be charged. These badges are NON-TRANSFERABLE and must be worn on the pool premises at all times. They must be shown upon entering the front gate. Failure to display, or not being able to produce your badge upon request by the pool personnel, could mean expulsion for an indefinite time. WHEN A PERSON IS FOUND TO BE USING SOMEONE ELSE'S BADGE, BOTH PERSONS WILL BE RESTRICTED FROM ALL POOL PRIVILEGES FOR THE REMAINDER OF THE SEASON. We request that all parents explain this penalty to their children and remember it for themselves.
Tickets will not be sold during Country Fair days. You may pick up or drop off applications at the Lower Salford Township Office during business hours (M-F 8:30 - 4:30), or mail applications to
Harleysville Community Center, P.O. Box 10, Harleysville, PA 19438. You may also apply at the Pool Office on Saturday, May 17, 2008 from 12:00 - 3:00 PM. If you wish to receive your tickets by return mail, please include a self-addressed stamped envelope with your application. In case of error in remittance or information, tickets will have to be picked up at the pool on May 17th. Those who do not enclose a stamped envelope may pick up their tickets at the pool on May 17th or when the pool is open.

The pool closing date will be determined based on Staff Availability. The Pool will be closing early for 5 scheduled swim meets. Dates will be posted at the Pool.
