PRESS RELEASE:

CELL PHONES FOR SOLDIERS PROGRAM

The Lower Salford Township Police Department is pleased to announce their participation in Cell Phones For Soldiers, a non-profit organization, founded by teenagers Robbie and Brittany Bergquist of Norwell, Mass., to recycle used cell phones, using the proceeds to buy prepaid calling cards for soldiers serving in the Middle East.  For further information, go to www.cellphonesforsoldiers.com.

Local residents can support this effort by dropping off their old cell phones at the Lower Salford Township Police Dept., 379 Main Street, Harleysville, PA, between the hours of 7:30 AM to 5:30 PM, Monday through Friday.  For further information, contact Barbara Jansons at 215-256-9500.

"RIGHT TO KNOW" REQUEST FORM

ACT 3 OF 2008

As of January 1, 2009, Act 3 of 2008 took effect across Pennsylvania. Act 3 0f 2008 concerns procedures for responding to public requests for Township Records. In coordination with Act 3, the Township has appointed two Open Records Officers. These Officers are Township Manager J. Delton Plank for the Administrative Offices and Chief Thomas Medwid for the Police Department. To review the new Regulations and Policies, please click on the link below. We have also attached the "Right to Know" request form which needs to be completed when requesting records. If you have questions regarding this new Act, please contact Township Manager Plank at: 215-256-8087 or Chief Thomas Medwid at 215-256-9500 during regular business hours of 8:30 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. Monday-Friday.
